Infrastructure built and refurbished in beneficiary schools by KST, a collaboration between Kagiso Trust and Cyril Ramaphosa Foundation that leverages the best practices of each organisation’s Whole School Development programmes in the Free State, is proving effective in helping to mitigate the Covid-19 pandemic.
Educators and learners in the Fezile Dabi district applauded KST for building additional classrooms at Retshedisitswe Secondary School and Sediba-Thuto Secondary School. The schools are now able to better implement social distancing and hygiene protocols.
“We have enough space to accomodate our Grade 12 for effective social distancing,” a Retshedisitswe Secondary School representative said.
KST’s Fezile Dabi District Manager, Nathan Pillay, said KST’s objective is to enhance teaching and learning spaces.
“The diversification of the KST infrastructure is still serving its purpose by providing a conducive teaching and learning environment during this unprecedented time,” he said.
