On 30 August 2018, the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) celebrated six fruitful years of partnership with Adopt-a-School Foundation and the Department of Education at an event Bochum village, Limpopo. The launch took place at Phagamang Secondary School, where a new administration facility, science laboratory, 3 renovated classrooms and ICT laboratory in partnership with Wipro Technologies were handed over as part of the Whole School Development Project.
The partnership between the IDC and Adopt-a-School Foundation has benefited three additional schools in the province, namely, Glen Cowie High School, Tshivhase Secondary School and Vhufuli Primary School and the interventions include, two newly built science laboratories, classrooms, renovated ICT laboratories, an administration facility, strategic planning, leadership, governance and team building workshops in all three schools and other critical curriculum support programmes to the value of R14 million. The structures were officially opened by the District Director, Mr Peter Sebopetsa followed by Wipro Technologies CSI Manager, Princess Nondanyana; AAS Board Member, Mr Silas Mashava; IDC Regional Manager, Kgampi Bapela and the MEC for Education, Mr Ishmael Kgetjepe.
