Last year, ahead of Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100, Solar Buddy in partnership with Global Citizen, the Flight Centre Travel Group and Adopt-a-School Foundation delivered 6,000 solar lights to students at eight schools supported by the Thari safe park in Botshabelo, Free State.
The Thari programme, is an inititiative by the Cyril Ramaphosa Foundation, that supports vulnerable women and children and aims to provide a safe environment for learners in communities plagued by high levels of unemployment, violence, crime and skills shortages.
